With 25+ years of military experience, let me help you make your Action characters and scenes more authentic. Contact me and tell me about your writing project.
So, you have an idea for an awesome story, you’ve toyed with writing, but you’re just not sure how to fit all the pieces together.
This is a ‘from the ground up’ editing guidance. It will include week by week consultations with the author from first idea to final draft.
Additionally, if you have a manuscript you just can’t finish this might be right for you after a receiving a diagnostic.
First, weekly calls, or however often your schedule allows.
The first call will be a discussion of the story you want to tell. Then, we’ll progress as I help you write better scenes, nail your story’s structure, and tell the global story you want to tell.
I will analyze up to 3,000 words a week (or per session). This is roughly about 3 scenes or chapters (1500 words per scene/ chapter).
For our initial 30 minute phone conversation (usually conducted through Zoom) is at no charge. At this point, we are checking to see if I’m the right editor to help you complete your story.
The Weekly charge for this editing is $300/week (or $300/session if your schedule doesn’t permit weekly engagements). This includes the weekly 1 hour phone calls meant to move your story forward and help you write better. This will also include analysis of up to 3,000 words per week (or session). You will submit your writing to me 72 hours before our scheduled meeting so I can give you actionable feedback during our Zoom conversation.
If you plan on using my editing services multiple times, you can buy packages of session at discounted rates (payable in advance).
If you are interested in a Developmental Editing, fill out this submission form.
After I receive your submission, we’ll arrange a time within a week to phone/email.
“I’ve gotten to know Randy over the past year as the editor of my novel. His patience and expertise have been immensely beneficial to me and the material. His approach is both tactical and strategic and he is ready and willing to dive into the mechanics of each scene to make them operate as efficiently as possible. His drive to make each scene work individually and as part of the larger whole has kept me on track as a writer . I wouldn’t be where I am today not for him.“
